Who we are
Avannis Inc. is a customer experience research company based in Colorado. Banks and credit unions across the United States hire us to find out how their customers and members feel about the service they receive. We run the research, we report the results back to the institution, and the institution uses those results to improve.
This policy explains what happens to personal information on our website at us.avannis.com. It is written in plain English on purpose, because two very different groups read it. One is people at banks and credit unions checking us out as a vendor. The other is ordinary bank customers who were contacted for a survey and want to confirm that Avannis is a real company doing legitimate work.

If you were contacted for a survey
This section is for bank and credit union customers rather than for our business clients.
If Avannis contacted you, it is because your bank or credit union asked us to find out how well it is serving the people who bank there. Your financial institution provided the contact details we used to reach you. You did not sign up with us directly. We are an independent research company working for that institution. We are not a debt collector and we are not selling you anything.
A survey asks about your opinions and your experience. In most cases we do not ask for personal or financial information beyond your name or phone number, and we use those only to confirm we are speaking with the right person. Your institution does not give us your account information. Usually all we receive is your name, your phone number, and an indication that you recently dealt with them.
Occasionally, at a client’s request, we ask a few general demographic questions such as age, income level or education level. You can decline any question and still take part in the rest of the survey.
Taking part is voluntary. You can decline, you can ignore the invitation, and you can ask us to stop contacting you. Email info@avannis.com and we will remove your phone number from our lists permanently, not only for the piece of research you were contacted about. If you ask us to, we will also pass your request on to the financial institution that gave us your details, although we cannot control what they do with their own lists.
Information you provide in a survey is handled on behalf of the financial institution that commissioned the research, under our contract with that institution. Some of the limits on what we do with your answers are ours rather than theirs, and they are set out below. If you want to know how your bank or credit union uses the results we report to it, ask them directly, because that part is their decision.
We never sell survey responses. We share them only with the financial institution that commissioned the research, and demographic answers are reported to that institution only in aggregate.
There is one exception to aggregate reporting. If you tell us that you are very unhappy and you would like someone from your institution to contact you about it, we pass your response to them so that they can follow up with you.
What Avannis will never ask you for
Please read this even if you read nothing else on this page. It is the best way to tell a genuine Avannis survey from someone pretending to be us.
Avannis will never ask you for any of the following.
- Your account number, card number, PIN or routing number
- Your Social Security number or tax ID
- Your online or mobile banking username, password, or security question answers
- A one-time passcode or verification code sent to you by text, email or an app
- Payment of any kind, a gift card, or a wire transfer
- Remote access to your computer or phone, or for you to install software
We do not need any of those things to ask you about your experience with your bank. If someone asks you for them and claims to be from Avannis, they are not from Avannis. Hang up or delete the message.

What this website collects
Information you give us
When you fill in a form on this site, whether that is a contact form, a demo request, a newsletter signup or a campaign form, we receive what you enter. That is generally your name, your work email address, your phone number, your institution, and anything you write in the message field. Those submissions go into our customer relationship management system so we can respond to you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one collects technical information when you visit, even if you never fill anything in. That includes your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, your browser and device type, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the page, search or advertisement that brought you here. Some of our campaign pages also record which marketing campaign referred you, so we can tell which of our efforts are working.
This happens through cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser.
Who receives information from this website
We share information with a small number of service providers, in these categories.
- Analytics providers, who help us understand how people find and use the site. We use Google Analytics.
- Advertising and social media platforms, which support marketing measurement and audience building. These include Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft and Pinterest.
- Website security and anti-spam providers, which protect the site and keep automated submissions out of our forms.
- Accessibility providers, which power the tool that lets visitors adjust how the site displays.
- Customer relationship and business communication providers, where form submissions are stored so our team can follow up with you.
Advertising and analytics
We use analytics and advertising technologies on this website, in the ordinary way that business to business websites do, to measure how the site performs and to reach people who may be interested in our research services.
The information involved is the technical and browsing information described above rather than anything you tell us in a survey. Survey responses are not used for advertising.
Under several state privacy laws, including in California, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas, using these technologies can be treated as “sharing” or “selling” personal information, or as targeted advertising, even where no money changes hands. We would rather say so plainly than argue about the definition. You can turn these technologies off at any time, and the next section explains how.
Cookies and your choices
A consent banner appears on this website. You can use it to accept the analytics and advertising technologies described above, or to decline them. You can change your mind at any time using the Your Privacy Choices link in the site footer.
This site also honors the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat that as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your information, and you do not need to do anything else.
Because Do Not Track is not interpreted consistently across browsers, we rely on the consent banner and Global Privacy Control rather than the Do Not Track header.
Blocking cookies entirely in your browser settings will also stop these technologies, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for. What counts as necessary depends on the information. Relevant factors include the business purpose it serves, our legal and recordkeeping obligations, security needs, and what our contracts with client financial institutions require.
Research information we handle for a client institution is governed by our agreement with that institution. If you want to know how long a particular piece of information is held, email info@avannis.com and we will tell you what applies.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, state law may give you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising. Several states also give you the right not to be treated differently for exercising those rights, and a right to appeal if we turn a request down.
To make any of these requests, email info@avannis.com or call (303) 962-4960. We will need enough information to confirm who you are before we act, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else. If an authorized agent makes a request for you, we may ask you to confirm it directly.
If you were contacted as part of research we run for a bank or credit union, that institution decides how the results we report to it are used. We will pass your request to them where that is the right route, and we will tell you when we do.
Nevada residents
Nevada residents may submit a request that we not sell covered information about them. Send that request to info@avannis.com.
Other Avannis services
Avannis operates additional websites, survey pages and online services. Those services may be governed by separate privacy notices appropriate to the information they process. If you have a question about a specific page, email info@avannis.com and tell us the address you were on.
Children
This website is aimed at banking professionals and at adult customers of financial institutions. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This policy is reviewed as our website and services change.
